About the Job: Act as the primary technical authority on Cisco security technologies at the customer site to ensure the successful implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of advanced security solutions. This role is responsible for driving proactive security practices, resolving complex issues, and enhancing the customer’s security posture through expert technical guidance and operational excellence. Key Accountabilities: - Manage and resolve technical incidents and service requests related to Cisco security solutions to ensure minimal disruption and maximum uptime. - Operate, configure, and maintain Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), FMC, and Identity Services Engine (ISE) to enforce robust network security protocols. - Analyze security incidents and performance data to provide proactive recommendations and enhance the customer's cybersecurity infrastructure. - Lead troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis to swiftly resolve network and security issues. - Document and update system configurations, as-built documentation, and runbooks to ensure consistent knowledge sharing and continuity of service. - Participate in the planning and execution of upgrades and policy tuning to ensure systems are optimized for current threat landscapes. - Engage in architecture assessments and design reviews to align security strategies with business requirements and industry best practices. - Ensure accurate and timely recording of support tickets and status updates in customer systems, meeting or exceeding SLA expectations. Role Requirements: Essential Qualifications and Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Experience: - Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network security, working directly with Cisco technologies. Training: - Completion of Cisco-specific training on FTD, FMC, and ISE platforms. Familiarity with ticketing and network monitoring tools. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: - Deep understanding of firewall rules, ACLs, NAT, VPNs (site-to-site and remote access), AAA, 802.1X, network segmentation, IDS/IPS, threat intelligence, Zero Trust, SASE, and cloud security models. - Strong documentation and communication abilities. - Proven track record in incident response and problem-solving in customer-facing environments. Preferable Qualifications and Education: - CCIE Security Certification or progress toward it. Experience: - Prior experience in a resident engineer or dedicated customer-site support role. Training: - Additional certifications in cloud security (e.g., AWS/Azure Security), or cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., CISSP, CISM). Specialized Knowledge and Skills: - Familiarity with ITIL practices, experience participating in change control boards, and exposure to automation/scripting for security operations.
