Responsibilities:
- Identify network attacks from internal and external sources.
- Provide expertise and guidance to business areas in need of Security Monitoring services.
- Utilize processes and technologies to detect and prevent malicious attacks.
- Enhance tools and techniques to defend against attacks.
- Respond to security events, from detection and analysis to closure.
- Work with project teams to design, develop, and implement Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) into new or existing network infrastructures.
- Act as the point of contact and represent Security Monitoring in project delivery workshops.
Job Requirements:
- Education: University degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Holding certifications in IT security such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
- Experience: 7+ years of IT security experience.
- Special Skills:
- Expert understanding of the current and developing malware and Trojan landscape.
- In-depth knowledge of full packet capture technologies.
- Familiarity with correlation tools and SIEM technologies.
- In-depth understanding of sandbox technologies and their limitations.
- Extensive experience with SourceFire, Snort, or similar Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Expert knowledge of Intrusion Detection signature development and log analysis tools and techniques.
