About the Job:
Canonical is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems, particularly known for our platform, Ubuntu. This role offers an opportunity for a technologist with a passion for Linux and Ubuntu to lead the Commercial Systems unit, which is integral to Canonical’s business. The Salesforce team within this unit is tasked with developing and configuring Canonical's Salesforce instance, delivering an exceptional experience to sales and business operations teams, all while adhering to the highest engineering standards.
We are seeking an engineering manager with senior-level experience in Salesforce who is dedicated to achieving high engineering quality, continuously improving processes, and leveraging the latest Salesforce features and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers to deliver solutions using the Salesforce platform.
- Seek improvements in established processes, designs, and engineering solutions.
- Collaborate on business analysis and technical designs.
- Provide Salesforce expertise to business customers and cross-functional teams.
- Deliver engineering solutions leveraging the Salesforce platform.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- Experience with Salesforce development and integrations.
- Experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to travel internationally for approximately 2-4 weeks per year.
Additional Skills:
- Experience as a software developer, preferably in Go or Python.
- Familiarity with business roles such as sales, finance, or operations.
