The role of a Systems Integrations Engineering Manager within the Commercial Systems unit offers a unique opportunity for a technologist passionate about Linux and Ubuntu. The Commercial Systems unit is responsible for key services that are central to Canonical's business. The Integrations team aims to seamlessly integrate all business systems used at Canonical, ensuring efficient data flow and automating business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and hire a team of software engineers.
  • Design and deliver engineering solutions using Go, Python, and open source tools like Airbyte and Temporal.
  • Seek improvements to established processes and engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with business customers to understand their data and integration needs.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience as a software developer in Python.
  • Excellent understanding of integration patterns.
  • Experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel internationally 2-4 times per year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Go or similar high-level programming languages.
  • Background in roles related to sales, finance, or operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

Work Conditions:

  • Fully remote working environment.
  • Opportunity to travel to new locations for team meetings (previous locations include New York, Seattle, London, Cape Town, Budapest, Berlin, Montreal, and Brussels).
