As a Lead Storage Backup Engineer, you will lead a team of storage and backup administrators, providing guidance and mentorship. Your responsibilities will include setting goals, monitoring progress, and ensuring team objectives are met. You will collaborate with various IT teams to complete project work and engage with management and stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage support and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build the organizational capacity necessary to execute the strategy.
- Generate custom reports and maintain Knowledgebase documentation.
- Manage and maintain data storage systems, ensuring data availability, integrity, and security.
- Oversee installation and implementation of storage systems, including hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).
- Collaborate with other IT teams for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Ensure backup solutions are configured for logging, alerting, and monitoring of backup schedules.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including Low-Level Design (LLD) and As-Built documentation.
- Assist in the definition of backup policies, recovery objectives, and schedules for applications.
- Follow best practices to ensure a secure, stable, and high-performing environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
- Proven experience in infrastructure technology management.
- Strong technical knowledge and teamwork skills.
Other Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Dell PowerMax, ScaleIO, Isilon, and Dell Data Protection (Data Domain).
- Relevant storage and backup or infrastructure certifications are a strong advantage.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or Certified Cloud Practitioner are a plus.
