Position

The Senior Product Technical Support Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy's business in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This role involves assembling GIS components and modules into complete bays, performing routine tests through a lean production line, and ensuring outstanding performance with a focus on quality, cost savings, and delivery time.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly, repair, and routine testing (Mechanical, 10KV, HV, functional & resistance measurements) of GIS bays in accordance with prepared work instructions, drawings, and customer orders.
  • Fulfill orders related to work packages based on production data and instructions; self-check work package results and confirm checklists and protocols.
  • Target optimal performance in quality, cost, and delivery time while maintaining factory equipment and tools, ensuring proper calibration.
  • Conduct quality control and immediately escalate any quality issues; record deviations and support root cause analysis for failures while writing quality non-conformance reports.
  • Gather product improvement feedback from GIS Local Service Center engineers and support teamwork through effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders (assembly, testing, logistics, etc.).
  • Adhere to safety, quality, environmental guidelines, and housekeeping protocols while maintaining a safe working environment in line with Hitachi Energy HSE guidelines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement processes and maintain a Lean culture.
  • Share ideas and observations, and perform additional tasks assigned by management to fulfill job requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a production facility involving assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Preferred knowledge of ELK04C, ELK04, ELK03, and ELK14 products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to read and understand technical drawings and material lists.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Understanding of lean principles and minimizing related wastes.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
