Position

At IBM, the Partner Technical Specialist in Storage plays a pivotal role within the IBM Ecosystem, which comprises numerous partners that build, sell, and service IBM technologies and platforms. The objective of this role is to influence partners' technical strategies and incorporate IBM’s technology portfolio into their reference architectures and solutions.

As a deeply technical seller, you will enhance your partners’ technical capabilities, enabling their sales and technical teams to demonstrate IBM technology effectively in client engagements. The role offers excellent onboarding and a robust learning culture to facilitate career advancement. You will work collaboratively within a dynamic team, leveraging your passion to encourage partners to prioritize IBM offerings in their client solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate pre-sales technical activities, including technology demonstrations and co-creation working sessions that lead to proofs of concept (PoC) and minimal viable products (MVPs).
  • Lead the delivery of joint-learning activities to enhance the technical skills and expertise of partners, thus promoting co-selling opportunities.
  • Continuously expand knowledge in business, industry, technology, architecture, and competitive landscape with a focus on Kubernetes, Red Hat, Docker, Cloud Foundry, Cloud Native Security, and Infrastructure.
  • Foster a growth-minded culture that encourages co-creation and technical excellence to drive innovations that accelerate partners' success.

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Deep technical expertise in the Storage product portfolio, with the capacity to engage in complex architectural discussions.
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills, demonstrating the ability to network and influence at all levels during complex technology sales cycles, ranging from $250k to multi-million-dollar deals.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in the use of sales management and recording systems, with effective expectation setting and follow-up practices.
