Position

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be a key part of Lean’s mission to delight clients by providing insights based on open banking data. You will join the engineering team, partnering with product teams to identify opportunities and develop ML/AI models that solve real problems for clients. Your role involves collaborating closely with the Data Engineering team to transition models from experimentation to delivering high-quality insights in production. Additionally, you will coach and mentor colleagues to foster knowledge of ML/AI within Lean.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement ML/AI models to provide insights, such as transaction categorization.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to map their needs into functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Conduct data analysis and exploratory research on open banking datasets to uncover patterns and trends.
  • Implement features extraction and labeling at scale and assess model performance.
  • Work closely with Data Engineering to ensure models are regularly updated and perform robustly.
  • Advocate for improvements to data pipelines and stay current with advancements in machine learning and NLP.
  • Educate the wider team on Data Science practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in ML/data science roles with a proven track record in building ML-based insights.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Proficient in relevant programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency in English, and comfort in explaining data science concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Fluent in Arabic.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in payments or open banking.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
