Position

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT), you will stage, set up, and perform hardware deployments. You will also conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment as well as handle hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes following Standard Operating Procedures. This role allows you to deepen your understanding of Data Center standard processes and procedures while developing mentoring skills through guidance to peers. Additionally, you will familiarize yourself with security and data management procedures, enhancing your career growth in the process. Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DCT, you will play a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Our infrastructure consists of a global portfolio of over 200 Data Centers in 32 countries, supporting services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide.

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work shifts, including assignments during non-standard business hours (evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays)
  • Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components
  • Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures
  • Quickly identify issues and replace faulty components with minimal disruption
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks and verify setup according to safety protocols
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes with minimal guidance
  • Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians for complex tasks
  • Complete required training and observe experienced technicians for hands-on experience
  • Contribute positively to the team environment by sharing information and participating in meetings
