Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Interface Engineer (Saudi National) to join our team! In this role, you will play a key supporting role in managing multidisciplinary design coordination for a complex infrastructure project. This position is ideal for a young engineer looking to build a foundation in interface engineering while contributing to high-impact infrastructure development.

Job Description:

  • Design Coordination and Interface Management:

    • Assist in identifying and managing design interfaces between disciplines (civil, structural, MEP, architectural, utilities, etc.).
    • Support coordination efforts to ensure consistency and compatibility across all design packages.
    • Monitor design updates and ensure interface issues are flagged, tracked, and resolved.
  • Documentation and Communication:

    • Maintain and update interface registers, design coordination logs, and meeting minutes.
    • Facilitate communication between designers, consultants, and project teams to address interface-related queries.
    • Ensure timely circulation of interface-related drawings, reports, and data to relevant stakeholders.
  • Clash Detection and Design Reviews:

    • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and coordination meetings.
    • Assist in identifying design clashes and interface conflicts using 2D/3D models or clash detection tools (with guidance).
    • Support preparation of interface-related reports, matrices, and resolution plans.
  • Design Change Management:

    • Track design changes that affect multiple disciplines and ensure proper communication and approvals.
    • Update design interface documents to reflect the latest revisions and changes.
    • Coordinate with document control teams to ensure latest approved documents are available to all parties.
  • Stakeholder Support and Coordination:

    • Support the Interface Manager or senior engineers in aligning internal and external design stakeholders (contractors, clients, consultants).
    • Assist in meetings, workshops, and technical coordination sessions.
    • Help maintain strong working relationships across design and delivery teams.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in design coordination or interface engineering within infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering design processes and coordination tools.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of infrastructure design principles, coordination processes, and project workflows.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, BIM models, and coordination platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic experience with software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, or Revit.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and support multiple stakeholders.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with 3D design coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks, BIM 360, Civil 3D).
  • Knowledge of design interface management systems or workflows.
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or transport projects.
  • Eagerness to grow into a more senior interface coordination or design management role.
