Parsons is seeking a talented System Integration Manager - Aviation to lead integration efforts on a high-profile airfield development project. This critical role requires a deep understanding of systems engineering, project coordination, and technology integration across multiple infrastructure domains, including airfield lighting, communications, surveillance, navigation aids, SCADA, and building systems.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in complex infrastructure or aviation projects, demonstrating a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary systems integration, testing, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Systems Integration Plan (SIP) for all airfield and terminal technology systems.
- Define integration architecture, data flow diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs).
- Coordinate interface definitions and interdependencies between systems including AGL, CCTV, BMS, IT, access control, fire alarm, and other airport systems.
- Oversee the end-to-end systems integration lifecycle—from design to commissioning.
- Review design deliverables to ensure integration requirements are properly captured and incorporated.
- Collaborate with design consultants, OEM vendors, and subcontractors to align technical solutions.
- Provide expertise on networked systems architecture and integration best practices.
- Lead risk assessments for integration-related dependencies and ensure early mitigation planning.
- Develop and manage system testing strategies including FAT, SAT, and integrated testing protocols.
- Oversee the execution of end-to-end system validation, involving multiple disciplines.
- Ensure systems meet functional requirements, operational needs, and safety/regulatory standards.
- Manage documentation of test cases, results, and resolution of integration defects.
- Act as the primary interface between the construction, engineering, ICT, and operations teams for all system integration matters.
- Coordinate with airport authority, civil aviation bodies, and end-users to validate operational needs.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and interface control meetings.
- Track integration milestones and ensure alignment with the overall project master schedule.
- Ensure integration activities comply with safety procedures and airport regulations.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and HSE integration during commissioning activities.
- Integrate cybersecurity considerations and data protection measures across all interfacing systems.
- Maintain up-to-date system interface registers, integration logs, and configuration management records.
- Provide regular reports to project leadership on integration progress, risks, and mitigations.
- Review and approve interface-related method statements, technical submittals, and test procedures.
- Lead a team of system engineers, testers, and interface coordinators.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in systems engineering.
- Drive a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and accountability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Systems, or Communications Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years in system integration for large-scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in an aviation or airfield environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-vendor, cross-disciplinary integration projects from design to commissioning.
- Deep technical knowledge of airfield systems (AGL, ILS, CNS, weather systems), BMS, ICT infrastructure, and security systems.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, interface documentation, and network schematics.
- Familiarity with integration tools, system modeling, and change/configuration control.
- Strong project management and coordination capabilities with a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
- Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP), PMP, or relevant project management accreditation.
- Experience with military or government aviation infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of FAA, ICAO, IATA, and relevant airfield/airport regulatory standards.
- Experience using tools like IBM DOORS, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or BIM 360 for coordination.
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and OT/IT convergence.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
