The Opportunity
Presight is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team building an end-to-end AI-powered data processing and analytics platform for enterprises.
Responsibilities
- Build foundational components for the enterprise AI platform, including:
- Lakehouse solutions based on industry-leading open-source technologies such as Clickhouse, Trino, and Spark.
- In-house distributed data processing and analytics pipeline engine (triggers, workers, DAGs).
- Implement Data Management and Governance, with sophisticated access control policies.
- Develop analytical tools backends (search, notebooks, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, developers) to deliver high-quality AI/ML powered experiences that align with customer needs and business goals.
- Comply with QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management, and related governance policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge in computer science and algorithms.
- 5+ years of experience in Java, building APIs and distributed systems.
- Experience in designing and building large-scale distributed fault-tolerant services.
- Proven experience in building search, recommendations, or other advanced analytics systems.
- Strong understanding of programming principles (SOLID) and data analytics fundamentals; basic SQL knowledge required.
- At least basic knowledge of Python and its ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Data Engineer with tools like Databricks, Snowflake, or MS Fabric.
- Familiarity with Clickhouse on OLAP/DWH workloads.
- Comfort navigating and troubleshooting front-end code (Typescript/React).
- Interest in AI models and Python notebooks.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for technology and innovation.
