About the Opportunity
Join a cross-functional team (engineering, product, data) to continuously discover customer and business needs, driving desired outcomes. As a Software Engineer II - Backend, you will design, write, and release software as solutions for end-to-end problems in your business domain, delivering value in small batches according to our engineering standards. You will own and innovate the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), understanding the scalability and complexity of your services. Your role will also involve optimizing team practices to foster a self-organized, continuously improving environment. This position requires not only strong technical skills but also a commitment to empathizing with user needs and an inclination towards alternative working methods that promote co-creation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in an Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, Continuous Refactoring)
- A solid understanding of lean/agile values and related practices
- Empathy and strong relationship-building skills
- Good verbal and written communication abilities
- A humble, curious, and open-minded attitude with a growth mindset, thriving on continuous feedback
- Experience in testing with a focus on automated end-to-end quality
- Familiarity with distributed systems architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, RESTful Services)
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Experience in building, maintaining, and improving systems with Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery
