An exciting opportunity is available for a Specialist II, Data Center. In this role, you will report to the Section Head, Data Center & Cloud. Your responsibilities will include the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT system administration, Azure Cloud, operations systems, and virtualization.
Role Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems.
- Specialize in designing, building, and maintaining cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure, and system performance and security, while identifying and addressing vulnerabilities.
- Document processes, configurations, and procedures for future reference.
- Manage and administer Microsoft Intune for device management and security.
- Configure and deploy policies for mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM).
- Resolve operational, infrastructure, or hardware incidents in IT infrastructure.
- Review the design of future spaces for operational uptime and reliability.
- Develop methods to optimize the physical arrangement of infrastructure equipment within racks and white spaces based on cooling and power requirements.
- Expertise in installation, configuration, and administration of VMware ESXi host and VMware Vcenter, and HPE HCI.
- Monitor and maintain server computing, including CPU, RAM, and memory.
- Analyze and proactively respond to trends and issues related to infrastructure.
- Resolve complex non-routine problems using a range of problem-solving techniques.
- Escalate issues that exceed capability or knowledge, including external referral, to ensure effective and timely resolution.
- Develop short-term and long-term work plans based on business requirements and prioritization.
- Allocate resources (self and contractors) to meet approved work plans timelines.
- Participate in team meetings to align with EBS strategic plans and contribute ideas to improve the work environment and processes.
- Recommend initiatives to enhance systems availability, integrity, and capacity.
- Prepare RFPs, scope of work reports, technical evaluations, and other documentation for IT projects.
- Conduct cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to assist management in decision-making.
- Research new technologies that may add value to the business.
- Lead and support modernization initiatives to improve infrastructure efficiency and performance.
- Stay updated with changes in technology relevant to the role and maintain the required knowledge levels.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- Experience: 5+ years in a mid/large-sized corporate IT environment.
- PowerShell scripting experience.
- Proven experience as an IT infrastructure Specialist.
- ITIL V3 Foundations or applied knowledge.
- Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- In-depth knowledge of vulnerability management and security best practices.
- Effective communication, customer orientation, high personal standards, initiative, and innovation.
- Awareness of ISO20000/ISO27001 standards and ITIL.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Relationship building, results orientation, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
