Role and Responsibilities
- Design and develop a cohesive software and system ecosystem that includes an IDE, runtime environment for industrial real-time devices, and a digital platform.
- Collaborate closely with product teams (hardware and software) to ensure seamless integration of all components, enhancing usability and system performance.
- Define and enforce best practices in software architecture and design, firmware development, and system architecture to meet non-functional requirements such as performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Apply scalable agile methods to facilitate collaborative and efficient team environments to ensure timely delivery of integrated solutions.
- Work with stakeholders from various areas to gather and validate requirements, ensuring that the software ecosystem meets diverse needs.
- Lead technology decision-making processes for each product and the entire product portfolio, aligning them with overarching business objectives and technology standards.
- Stay updated on new technologies and methods that could benefit the ecosystem, driving continuous innovation and improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 15-20 years of experience in software architecture, system design, system architecture, and embedded software development, with a comprehensive understanding of IDEs, runtime environments, and digital platforms.
- Proven ability to integrate complex software products into coherent ecosystems with a focus on usability and performance optimization.
- Strong background in industrial automation, machine engineering, or manufacturing, with hands-on technical experience in developing necessary system/software architectures for modern automation solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling the presentation of technical concepts to non-technical audiences and convincing stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and frameworks, along with a willingness to stay informed about industry trends and innovations.
- Excellent written and presentation skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
