Position

The Amazon MENA CX Product team is seeking an analytical and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer. This role focuses on transforming disparate, raw data into actionable insights to enhance customer experiences when discovering, evaluating, and purchasing products across the Amazon store. The engineer will own analytics for the customer shopping journey, including key touchpoints such as Search, Navigation, Homepage, Detail Page, Checkout, and order placement.

The ideal candidate is driven, enjoys working with BI tools, and can perform complex analyses that inform product design and business priorities. This individual will partner with Product teams, ensuring comfortable access to multiple data sources, automating critical reports, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to address broad business challenges. The candidate will also contribute to shaping product design, tracking experiment success, and identifying defects to uncover additional workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements and deliver comprehensive BI solutions for business & finance customers.
  • Define the team's BI strategy and oversee the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, and dashboards.
  • Automate and enhance ongoing reporting processes to facilitate self-service support for clients.
  • Write high-quality code to extract and analyze large, complex datasets.
  • Identify data patterns and provide data-driven recommendations to drive growth and improve profitability.
  • Develop a strong understanding of key business metrics/KPIs and deliver compelling analyses that guide business direction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of SQL experience.
  • Proficient in programming for data extraction, transformation, and cleaning of large datasets (multi-TB).
  • Experience in the data/BI field.
  • Proven experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate data into business needs.
  • Ability to manage, analyze, and communicate results to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python).
  • Familiarity with the design of experiments and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL databases, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Background in using Statistical Analysis tools such as R, SAS, and MATLAB.
  • Experience with AWS solutions (EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift) and data mining.

Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is expected.
