About the Job
This position offers an opportunity to lead a Professional Services (Field Engineering) team, helping customers understand and implement Canonical's open-source solutions in public clouds and their own data centers. The role encompasses a comprehensive range of cloud offerings, including Ubuntu, virtualization, private cloud, Kubernetes, and sophisticated open-source solutions such as MLOps platforms and data platforms.

As a Cloud Professional Services Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the team in technical presales conversations and project delivery, while also nurturing management skills among engineers interested in soft skills. You will help shape the team’s direction and ensure high-quality service delivery to clients across various sectors, including telecom, finance, healthcare, and media.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers, from graduate to senior levels.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
  • Identify and measure team health indicators; implement disciplined engineering processes.
  • Represent your team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
  • Develop and promote excellent engineering and organizational practices.
  • Collaborate closely with other leaders as part of the leadership team.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, and Ceph.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux and networking.
  • Experience in technical presales.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A demonstrated passion for developing and growing team members.
  • Organized with a focus on timely, high-quality results.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time for tech events and customer meetings.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • A second language, preferably Spanish or French.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Experience collaborating with external partners and multiple internal teams.
