Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems for the global enterprise and technology markets. We are seeking a Dedicated Services Engineer to support our customers in Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will maintain and optimize clients' private cloud infrastructure while collaborating directly with clients to diagnose and resolve technical issues. Your focus will be on ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of private cloud systems.

As part of the site reliability engineer team, you will utilize your Python software engineering skills to contribute to the operations domain, employing DevSecOps practices from bare metal to application. The role requires a genuine interest in the complete open-source infrastructure stack and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure operations environment serving mission-critical services for well-known global customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize clients' private cloud infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues while providing expert guidance.
  • Ensure the smooth operation and high reliability of private cloud systems.
  • Continuously evolve offerings to align with the latest capabilities in open-source infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Expertise in Bash scripting and Python software development.
  • Operational troubleshooting experience in Linux environments.
  • Ability to work independently in a customer-facing, on-site role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for company events (up to two weeks long).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with OpenStack or Kubernetes deployment or operations.
  • Familiarity with public or private cloud management.
