Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in breakthrough initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We serve major public cloud providers and industry leaders across various sectors.

We are hiring Embedded Linux Consultants to expand our reach in mission-critical industries including Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, Telco, and Consumer Electronics. Ideal candidates should have a passion for Linux, in-depth knowledge of the OS, and proficiency in containerization, system debugging, and embedded Linux development.

As part of this role, you will engage customers during pre-sales, propose solutions, participate in project delivery, and act as both a customer advocate and a trusted advisor. Successful candidates will have extensive Linux experience, proficiency in coding with languages such as Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, RTOS)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; local language proficiency is required for positions in Japan and Korea
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
