Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open-source software and operating systems, known for its platform Ubuntu, widely utilized in public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We are expanding to mission-critical industries including Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Consumer Electronics. We seek accomplished Linux plumbers who are passionate about Linux, proficient with containerization, system debugging, and eager to engage with diverse client needs.

As an Embedded Linux Field Engineer, you will engage with customers during presales to gather requirements, elaborate solutions for prospective clients, and deliver projects related to Embedded Linux. Your role will also involve advocacy for customers and conveying market requirements to key stakeholders.

Location: Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote with travel requirements (up to 30% of the time)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Extensive experience with Linux, preferably Debian or Ubuntu
  • Solid experience in embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot) or RTOS
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
  • Professional written and spoken English, as well as the ability to speak and write Chinese at a professional level
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Result-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30% of the time)
