We are seeking an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a regionally-focused team of Field Engineers in Presales and Professional Services activities. This role involves assisting customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers, ranging from graduate to senior level, in the areas of Presales and Professional Services.
- Solve customer problems by promoting our technologies and serving as a trusted advisor.
- Work remotely in a single major time zone.
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members.
- Identify and measure team health indicators, implementing disciplined engineering processes.
- Represent your team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Develop and evangelize excellent engineering and organizational practices.
- Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
- Collaborate with other leaders within the organization.
What We Are Looking For:
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux, preferably with Yocto.
- Proficiency in Linux, with a preference for Debian or Ubuntu.
- Fluency in at least one of the programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience managing a small team and engaging with customers.
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
- Result-oriented with a strong personal drive to meet commitments.
Desirable Traits:
- Experience with RTOS.
- Additional language skills (both programming and spoken languages).
- Previous experience working in a remote-first, diverse, and distributed company.
