As an Engineering Manager at Canonical, you will be responsible for leading an effective team and developing the engineers you manage. You will foster their growth, encourage outstanding work, and promote a positive workplace culture. Your background in software engineering and technical leadership experience are crucial for this role. You will guide your team in strategy and execution, ensuring adherence to software architecture best practices and maintaining high standards in software quality, testing, and documentation.
What You'll Do:
- Lead a team focused on building a Ceph-based software-defined storage solution.
- Manage a globally distributed team of engineers and provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to sound engineering principles aligned with your team's goals.

Who You Are:
- You have a software engineering background, preferably with experience in Python and C++.
- You have experience operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux, preferably with Ceph, in production environments.
- You are enthusiastic about embracing new technologies and expanding the boundaries of what's possible.
- You take pleasure in developing and nurturing talent with a proven track record of doing so.
- You are interested in creating products that enhance software and infrastructure operations.
- You are knowledgeable and passionate about software development.
- You have substantial experience guiding teams to deliver high-quality software in an agile development environment.
