We are hiring an Engineering Manager - Python and K8s who is passionate about building a world-class DevOps culture within corporate information systems. This role aims to transform our Internal Systems (IS) team into an extension of the product engineering capability at Canonical. The team will productize workloads for real-time automated operations on Kubernetes, focusing on the business workloads critical to ensuring the high availability of Ubuntu and its associated services.

  • Lead a team focused on productizing business workloads.
  • Build and manage a regional team of engineers.
  • Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and consistent feedback.
  • Contribute to your team's goals while demonstrating strong engineering practices.
  • Set reasonable project schedules and manage expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for modern, agile software development practices.
  • Maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in Docker and Kubernetes operations.
  • Background in software engineering with proven Python experience.
  • Familiar with developing Python frameworks and understanding stable consumable APIs.
  • Enthusiastic about new technologies and improving software and infrastructure operations.
  • Proven ability to develop and grow your team.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about software development.
  • Experienced in an agile development environment.

Language Requirements:

Fluency in English is essential.
