Position

Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, renowned for its platform, Ubuntu, which is extensively utilized in public cloud, data science, AI, and IoT. We aim to create a world-class DevOps culture within our Corporate Information Systems (IS) team. This team will focus on transforming IS from an inward-facing operation into an extension of Canonical's product engineering capability, with an emphasis on productizing open source workloads for automated operations on Kubernetes.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team that ensures high availability of Ubuntu and Canonical services globally. You will be responsible for guiding sound software architecture, maintaining software quality, testing, and documentation. Your leadership will positively influence team culture and facilitate technical delivery, aligning with company strategy and execution.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead a team focused on productizing business workloads.
  • Build and manage a regional team of engineers.
  • Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.

  • Experienced in Docker and Kubernetes operations.
  • Background in software engineering with proven Python experience.
  • Familiar with developing Python frameworks and understanding the importance of stable, consumable APIs.
  • Passionate about embracing new technologies and building better software products.
  • A proven track record in developing and growing team members.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about software development within an agile environment.
