Position

As a Go (Golang) Software Engineer for Identity Management at Canonical, you will be responsible for modernizing and expanding the capabilities of identity management solutions used for authentication and authorization across our suite of enterprise products. This includes our canonical.com and ubuntu.com websites. Working in a remote, distributed environment, you will collaborate with a team to write clean web service APIs supporting both CLI and web frontend clients using Go, with optional Python usage. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing new features, reviewing code, and enhancing API endpoints while adhering to best practices in identity and access management.

This is a full-time remote position based in the EMEA and AMER regions, with opportunities for global travel 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events. The role includes twice-yearly team sprints in person.

Key qualifications include experience in building identity and access management products, familiarity with open source software standards and protocols in the identity space (e.g., OpenID, OAuth, LDAP), and an understanding of secure coding practices. Comfort with Ubuntu as a development and deployment platform is also expected.

At Canonical, we offer competitive compensation with an annual performance-driven bonus or commission, a personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year, and additional benefits that reflect our values, including annual holiday leave and maternity/paternity leave. We value professional growth and provide opportunities to meet colleagues from around the world.

Canonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source and the publisher of Ubuntu, committed to creating an inclusive work environment and encouraging diverse applicants to join our team.
