The IoT Solutions Architecture Manager will lead a regionally-focused team of Field Engineers engaged in Presales and Professional Services. The role involves assisting customers in solution architecture, design, and delivery, with a mission to empower companies to create secure connected devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Field Engineers, from graduate to senior levels, in Presales and Professional Services.
- Solve customer problems by promoting Canonical's technologies and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Manage and support team members, providing coaching, mentorship, and career development feedback.
- Identify and measure team health indicators and implement disciplined engineering processes.
- Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers while planning and managing progress on agreed goals and projects.
- Collaborate with other leaders as part of the leadership team.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux (preferably Yocto) and Debian or Ubuntu.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust).
- Ability to manage a small team and engage with customers.
- Professional written and spoken English is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
- Results-driven mindset with a commitment to meeting goals.
- A humble learner and quick study.
Desirable Traits:
- RTOS experience.
- Knowledge of additional programming and spoken languages.
