Position

In this role, you will engage with top-tier professionals in technology to monitor, triage, respond to, and document new and existing vulnerabilities in open source software. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing, fixing, and testing vulnerabilities in Ubuntu packages
  • Tracking vulnerabilities in Ubuntu releases
  • Collaborating with teams in the Ubuntu community and upstream developers to exchange or develop vulnerability patches
  • Auditing source code for vulnerabilities

Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote, Requires international travel several times a year (about twice a year for up to two weeks each time)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of security vulnerabilities and techniques to address them
  • Familiarity with coordinated disclosure practices and open source development tools
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, or PHP
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with team members and community members effectively
  • Experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, adaptability, and accountability
