Position

Canonical is seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the evolution of Ubuntu, a leading open-source platform utilized in various enterprise sectors including public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. As a recognized provider of open-source software and operating systems, Canonical fosters global collaboration with a remote-first environment. In this role, you will collaborate with a distributed team, working to enhance the user experience of Ubuntu users. This includes bug debugging, package maintenance, and contributing to the software ecosystem. You will collaborate with other teams in the Ubuntu and Debian communities and engage with upstream projects.

Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Remote)
Work Conditions:

  • Global travel required (2 to 4 weeks annually for internal and external events)

  • You possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
  • You have experience or interest in areas such as distribution development, debugging, and coding in Python, Go, or Rust.
