About the Job: This position is for a Staff Engineer at Canonical, which allows candidates to join any team after an initial round of interviews. Canonical delivers open source technology worldwide and is known for Ubuntu, a leading Linux operating system utilized across cloud, desktop, and IoT sectors. The engineering teams range from operating systems, programming languages, applications, to infrastructure and services. Core programming languages include Golang, Python, C, C++, and Rust, alongside front-end technologies like React and Flutter. As a Staff Engineer, you will not only excel in software architecture and coding but also embody the leadership required to drive collaboration across teams and products. You will partner with an Engineering Director to ensure product outcomes, contributing high-quality code, technical leadership, team direction, and excellent documentation. This role involves substantial responsibilities in the architecture, design, and evolution of high-impact open-source projects.
