About the Job: The Systems Integrations Engineering Manager role at Canonical presents a unique opportunity for a technologist with a strong passion for Linux and Ubuntu. As part of the Commercial Systems unit, you will work closely with various engineering teams to integrate business systems and automate processes that are critical to the company's operations. The role involves leading a team that leverages technologies such as Go and Python, along with open-source tools like Airbyte and Temporal, to drive efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and hire a team of software engineers.
  • Design and deliver engineering solutions using Go, Python, and open-source tools.
  • Collaborate with business customers to address their data and integrations needs.
  • Continuously seek improvements to established processes and engineering solutions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience as a software developer in Python.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns.
  • Proven experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate in a remote environment and stay motivated and organized.
  • Willingness to travel internationally 2-4 times per year.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in a high-level programming language (preferably Go).
  • Background in a business role such as sales, finance, or operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
