Position

The role of a Systems Integrations Engineering Manager at Canonical is an exciting opportunity for a technologist passionate about Linux and Ubuntu. This engineering management position is responsible for leading a team that drives the integration of various business systems used at Canonical, ensuring that data flows reliably and automates business processes across the organization.

The Commercial Systems unit, which this role is part of, is responsible for several engineering teams that closely collaborate with business units. The Integrations team focuses on a range of popular SaaS solutions, such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Greenhouse, and GSuite, leveraging technologies like Python, Go, and open-source tools like Airbyte and Temporal. This position is ideal for candidates with software engineering experience who are committed to high engineering standards and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and recruit a team of software engineers.
  • Design and deliver engineering solutions utilizing Go, Python, and open-source tools.
  • Collaborate with business customers to understand their data and integration needs.
  • Seek improvements to established engineering processes and solutions.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a software developer in Python.
  • Excellent understanding of integration patterns.
  • Experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with diverse team members.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for approximately 2-4 times per year.

Preferred Skills:

  • Software development experience in a high-level language, preferably Go.
  • Business experience in areas such as sales, finance, or operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.

Language Requirements:
Fluent in English (both verbal and written).
