The role is responsible for day-to-day application service management and operations to ensure service availability, optimal performance, and security of systems including operating systems and other related services. The Application Services Engineer will participate in system capacity evaluation and planning.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and coordinate the resolution of potential and actual application/service problems.
- Ensure that operational documentation for systems is fit for purpose and current.
- Advise on the correct and effective use of systems.
- Review application/system software updates and identify those that merit action.
- Use application/system management software and tools to collect logs and analyze them.
- Carry out agreed application operational procedures, including application configuration, installation, and maintenance.
- Use application management tools to collect and report application performance statistics and error logs.
- Automate application tasks, processes, and deployments.
- Monitor service components of the applications.
- Respond to routine requests for support and investigate in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist users with their work and issues.
- Perform application administration tasks and resolve issues.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution related to integrations with the application.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to other application services engineers.
- Ensure/participate in implementation, adherence, and enforcement of the SAMA Cybersecurity Framework and other related compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Preferred tertiary-level qualification in computer science or a related field from an internationally recognized institution.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience demonstrating the required competencies.
- An experienced professional capable of delivering on complex technical tasks and overseeing small projects.
- Has provided technical supervision to junior staff in the past.
