Data Analytics Specialist

About the Role: The Data Analytics Specialist is responsible for the conceptualization, design, implementation, and delivery of Business Intelligence programs to support the company in data management and report/dashboard development for decision-making processes. This role aims to enable information transparency and data quality that supports various business departments like Distribution, Actuarial, Finance, Marketing, Underwriting, Reinsurance, Operations, Audit, etc., across systems and organizational boundaries.

Experience:

• An Accredited Software Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ Years’ experience in Information technology, data management, and BI
• 1+ Years recent experience within the Insurance Sector
• Sound Knowledge of environments like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Data Management Tools such as Microsoft SSIS Tools, Oracle ETL, Alteryx.
• Data Analysis and Visualization Tools including a combination of SAS tools & Power BI.
• Programming Languages encompassing a combination of ANSI SQL and variants, supporting languages like .NET, Java, R, Python, etc.
• Big Data programming platforms such as Python, Spark, HDFS
• Cloud Technology experience with Azure, Oracle Cloud

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment under high-pressure and changing priorities
• Technology Innovation and thought leadership
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities effectively
• Extensive experience in multidimensional data modeling and handling different models like star schemas, snowflake, normalized, and de-normalized models
• Strong Business Skills in the Insurance domain
• Good oral and written English communication skills
• Willingness to work outside of regular office hours when required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ETLs and cubes design and development, data access, data integration, data visualization, text mining, data discovery, database design and implementation
• Writing documentation for functional specification and technical realization
• Implementation of effective solutions for integration with current ET systems
• Support business processes related to Information Management
• Support BI & other IT projects and ensure smooth implementation
• Consolidate Data from legacy systems for consumption and analysis
• Develop data and information integration standards for project development
• Translate analytic business requirements into data designs to support business outcomes
• Collaborate with Business / IT / 3rd Party Partners
• Design and implement data integrations to support business requirements
• Participate in troubleshooting software application issues related to BI Area
• Identify risks and provide mitigation measures
• Solutions Assessment as per department policies and procedures

This role requires a rich background in Information Management and Data Warehousing technologies, preferably in the Insurance domain, covering various areas like Underwriting, Reinsurance, Actuarial, Claims, Finance, Operations, Regulatory reporting, Legal/Fraud/Compliance, Audit, Sales, Marketing, and Distribution.
