Denodo is seeking a technical and passionate Data Engineer to join our Customer Success team. This role is centered around traveling, consulting, developing, training, and troubleshooting to enhance our clients’ experience with Data Virtualization solutions. Your mission will be to help clients realize their full potential through the accelerated adoption and productive use of Denodo solutions.
You will play a crucial role as a point of contact, utilizing a combination of high technical expertise and excellent client management skills to conduct both on-site and off-site consulting and product implementation. Your responsibilities will vary from short to long-term engagements, ensuring collaboration between Denodo, partners, and client teams.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Obtain and maintain a strong knowledge of the Denodo Platform, delivering a superb technical pitch that includes an overview of key and advanced features, benefits, service offerings, differentiation, and competitive positioning.
- Continually learn new technologies and maintain awareness of modern advancements.
- Address technical questions related to customization, integration, enterprise architecture, and the general features and functionality of the product.
- Build and lead the development of custom deployments based on client requirements.
- Provide timely and comprehensive customer feedback to Product Management, Sales, Support, and Development regarding client business cases, requirements, and issues.
- Train and engage clients on product architecture, configuration, and use of the Denodo Platform.
- Promote knowledge-sharing and best practices while managing deliverables and client expectations.
- Establish credibility with clients at all levels and build problem-solving partnerships with clients, partners, and colleagues.
- Provide technical consulting, training, and support.
- Develop white papers, presentations, training materials, or documentation on related topics.
Desired Skills & Experience
- A BS or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, preferably within the data management or analytics software industry.
- Solid understanding of SQL and a good grasp of relational and analytical database management theory and practice.
- Experience in Java software development, particularly in the web and database domains.
- Familiarity with JDBC, XML, and Web Services APIs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with technical and business counterparts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A continuous desire to learn and innovate, characterized by curiosity and creativity.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
Non-Mandatory Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with version control systems like GIT.
- Familiarity with Big Data and/or NoSQL environments such as Hadoop or MongoDB.
- Knowledge of caching technologies like JCS.
- Experience in Windows, Linux, and UNIX server environments.
- Involvement in business software implementation and integration projects (e.g., ETL/Data Warehouse architectures).
- Integration experience with packaged applications (e.g., relational databases, SAP, Oracle Financials).
- Background in supporting mission-critical software components.
- Experience participating in customer meetings and creating technical documentation.
- Foreign language skills are a plus.
