As a Senior Engineer - Control (Analytical), you will be responsible for leading the conceptualization, design, and optimization of advanced control systems for small and medium-sized gimbal stabilization, ensuring robust performance in all operating conditions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating expertise in missile homing algorithms and gimbal stabilization and tracking loop implementation.
  • Utilizing expert knowledge in electric drives to incorporate them into gimbal control systems for enhanced efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure holistic integration of gimbal systems with broader UAV platforms.
  • Conducting system analyses using simulations, lab tests, and field trials to evaluate and enhance gimbal performance.
  • Developing mathematical models of gimbal systems and performing parameter identification to simulate and predict system behavior.
  • Integrating and calibrating BLDC, PMSM, and brushed DC motor drives into gimbal control systems.
  • Engaging in continuous research to explore and apply state-of-the-art tracking methodologies to unmanned systems.
  • Overseeing the development of robust and efficient embedded software solutions for gimbal control.
  • Mentoring and training junior technical personnel.
  • Collaborating with the embedded software team to develop sophisticated control software ensuring modularity, scalability, and maintenance ease.
  • Supporting the hardware team in evaluating, selecting, and integrating suitable IMUs and encoders for gimbal stabilization applications.

Knowledge/Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in control systems engineering focused on gimbal stabilization, electric drives, and embedded software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UAV dynamics, system integration, and modern control methodologies.
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, control systems, or a relevant field.
  • Expert knowledge of PID controllers, state-space, and modern control algorithms applicable to gimbal stabilization systems.
  • Proficiency in the design, testing, and integration of electric drives including brushless DC motors, servos, and control electronics.
  • Experience using tools like MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulating control systems, with the ability to implement simulation results in practical applications.
  • Ability to perform complex analyses on system performance data to inform design decisions and optimizations.
