The Emirates Investment Authority (EIA) is the sovereign wealth fund of the federal government of the United Arab Emirates. It was established in 2007 by federal decree and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. The EIA manages federal sovereign wealth by investing in a diversified portfolio of assets across key economic sectors to deliver sustained financial returns for the UAE. It is distinct from emirate-level funds such as the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. The EIA has been entrusted with the custody and management of strategic federal assets, including stakes in telecommunications companies e& (Etisalat) and du.
