As a Senior Software Engineer - Oracle, you will be a fully participating member of an agile feature team working independently on software development and problem resolution. The role involves technical design, software development, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions/products that support the Emirates Group Business.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior technical engineers in the technical design process by contributing to analyzing technical application requirements.
- Convert technical solutions for small to medium-sized initiatives into low-level design and working code.
- Independently write secure and optimized code following Emirates Group approved coding standards.
- Participate in rotational on-call support and actively resolve production issues within SLAs.
- Ensure built-in quality with 100% unit testing as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
- Analyze and fix identified defects with minimal rework, ensuring good refactoring practices.
- Implement logging and monitoring hooks in code development.
- Stay current with relevant technologies to enhance code quality.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in IT-Software Engineering.
- Broad expertise in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres) and NoSQL databases (Couchbase, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Cassandra).
- Experience in integration tools (Informatica, Snaplogic, Solace, APIGEE) and application performance monitoring (AppDynamics/Splunk).
- Strong background in writing unit tests and providing production support using the ITIL framework.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and Git.
- Desirable high-level knowledge of infrastructure, networking, Java, and Java scripting.
