We are open to hiring someone at Senior Manager or Director level within the Data Science Consulting & Data Analytics Practice with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions in the Energy/Oil & Gas sector. The roles offer exciting opportunities to work with leading-edge data technologies and play a highly visible role across the data practice, partnering closely with clients to drive local market growth.

We offer a hybrid work environment, working in the EPAM office, on client sites, and from home depending on the projects you will be aligned to.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction expertise in Data Science/AI/ML, driving the design, development, and implementation of solutions for clients in the Oil & Gas/Energy sector.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, develop data models, and apply appropriate ML algorithms to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Lead the identification of new AI/ML opportunities, whether through selling solutions or securing funding, by leveraging your technical expertise and engaging senior decision-makers.
  • Shape data solutions and properly scope, price engagements, establishing optimal operating models and project team organization, and leading the transition from the sales process to the delivery phase.
  • Focus on practical AI application frameworks, including Data, MLOps, and LLMOps, and actively participate in the development of Generative AI, Responsible AI, ESG, and AI Security offerings ensuring their alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction through effective project delivery, clear communication, and timely issue resolution.
  • Engage client executives up to C-level, helping them drive an enterprise-wide agenda to maximize growth.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development in Data Science/AI/ML.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML and emerging technologies, proactively recommending new approaches and methodologies to address challenges in the markets and geographies in which clients operate.
  • Support pre-sales activities by assessing Data opportunities, responding to RFPs, and creating proposals and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or extensive relevant work experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Oil & Gas/Energy sector.
  • Strong experience in a senior or leadership role within Data Science & Data Analytics Technology Consulting.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing AI/ML, Generative AI, and MLOps solutions.
  • Technical proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and ML libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Solid understanding of ML algorithms, data pre-processing, feature selection, and model evaluation techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders to secure funding or sell AI/ML projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams across different geographies and building strong, lasting relationships.
  • Confident in expressing points of view, making recommendations, and presenting analysis and recommendations at the board level when appropriate.
  • Ideally, experience in pre-sales or supporting sales teams.
  • Fluent in English, with Arabic being a strong advantage.
