In this position, you will work closely with clients to define and establish geospatial-centric solutions that enhance their success and broaden the impact of GIS technology within their business. Your role will involve shaping the evolution of the platform by identifying new implementation patterns and providing solutions while promoting the use of Esri technology. You will collaborate with industry experts to enable customer success and support growth into new domains.

As part of a talented cross-functional team comprising dynamic and passionate Consultants and Project Managers, you will deliver solutions that make a difference in communities worldwide. You will partake in a delivery team that implements critical technologies, improving quality, reliability, and accessibility to data and geospatial capabilities. The Professional Services division of Esri, which serves as its consulting and implementation arm, includes nearly 1,000 business and technical professionals dedicated to delivering transformational solutions to high-profile clients globally.

Responsibilities
The Senior Consultant will oversee the development of programs supporting an organization’s main objectives, with key responsibilities including:

  • Overseeing complex and strategic GIS programs involving multiple engagements and stakeholder teams.
  • Working with both Esri and customer senior-level stakeholders to establish program goals aligned with organizational strategies.
  • Monitoring outputs and outcomes of engagements, collaborating with stakeholders to manage changes ensuring program benefits are delivered.
  • Serving as a point of contact for escalations.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to discuss program status and balance diverse interests while addressing complex issues.
  • Producing accurate and timely reports on program status throughout its lifecycle.
  • Analyzing program risks and managing risk mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in a similar role with related responsibilities.
  • Professional experience in program management, including strategic consulting, technology adoption, and understanding customer needs.
  • Ability to consult and engage with executive-level leadership.
  • Extensive project management experience, including leading large-scale proposals.
  • Strong professional presentation skills for internal and external briefings.
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem solver who is team-oriented and creative.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a willingness to learn and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to translate customer business goals into actionable solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar field in North America or Europe.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled applications, spatial analysis, or similar geospatial technology.
  • GIS Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of software engineering or robust application development principles.
  • Understanding current technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
