Telecommunications Technician

About the Job:
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Telecommunications Technician. This role involves performing a variety of electronic and technical assignments on data communications equipment and systems, including the installation and troubleshooting of terminals, controllers, and testing equipment. Responsibilities include restoring nonworking lines and equipment, maintaining relationships with outside vendors, conducting site surveys, and modifying telecommunications and related equipment according to specifications.

Work Conditions:
Full-time, fully onsite position in the United Arab Emirates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform electronic and technical assignments on data communications equipment.
• Complete terminal troubleshooting using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Install and maintain telecommunications systems according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and report service order changes.
• Answer queries related to system controls and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma with 3-6 years of relevant experience.
• Secret clearance required.
• 2 years of lead-level practical experience in installations, repair, and troubleshooting of communications systems.
• Expertise in maintaining/troubleshooting Motorola and other Land Mobile Radio (LMR) equipment.
• Qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios.
• Familiarity with equipment tracking databases and LMR shop operations.
