The Data and Analytics Office (DAO) was established to transform HSBC into a truly data-driven organization by ensuring that every design decision has a built-in data consideration. As DAO, we will provide leadership that enables data and analytics to be a key driver of our business strategy. We work closely in partnership with senior stakeholders and delivery teams all over the world to connect the business processes, data, products, services, and technology that underpin customer value and financial success. We align with the new Value Stream to derive value from Data Management, Data Provisioning, Analytics, and Insight.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leading the DAO function for the MENAT region and work collaboratively across all regions. Key priorities include:
- Drive buy-in, alignment, and execution of the Group Data Strategy in MENAT, ensuring all development is aligned to the Future State Architecture and complies with Data Standards.
- Lead data transformation initiatives to improve end-to-end processes in MENAT.
- Collaborate with all respective GBGFs on data remediation and enhancement.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance regarding data, acting as the single point of contact with MENAT regulators, ensuring appropriate engagement on all data matters.
- Manage data risk and implement controls in MENAT, serving as the most senior data expert.
- Collaborate with Group DAO and regional businesses on the design of products, services, processes, and technology solutions to fulfill customer needs.
- Partner and collaborate with members of the Executive Committee and leadership team, including the MENAT Chief Information Officer and Chief Operating Officer, to maximize effectiveness.
- Build a community of data professionals and enthusiasts across MENAT to influence outcomes for data governance, quality, and data-related projects.
- Support the delivery of data and analytics solutions by ensuring proper implementation and adherence to Group DAO principles, strategies, and standards.
Requirements

- Expertise in creating a compelling vision for data governance, data quality, and data privacy and be able to bring this vision to life for stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills to inspire your own high-performing team and build a community of data enthusiasts across various functions and geographies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience working in a matrix organization.
- Extensive experience in data transformation to deliver significant, transformational programs by bringing together data, innovation, and technology.
- Extensive knowledge in demand, capacity management, and financial management is required.
- Accountability to take ownership of data risk and represent yourself and your function in business governance meetings.
- Extensive experience in data compliance to navigate MENAT regulators and understand their requirements regarding cloud, data localization, etc.
- Familiarity with delivering in a highly regulated environment is essential.
- A data-qualified professional with CIMP or CDMP is desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree is essential to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit.
