The Technical Product Manager role has the Regional Responsibility across 5 MENAT Markets for the delivery, on-going success and continuous improvement of Straight Through Processing platform (STP) which facilitates New to Bank and Existing to the bank customers, enabling the new Mobile only World Class Account Opening journey, maintain servicing journeys in the MENA markets, build new Lending products like Credit Card Cross sell, Virtual debit Card, Personal Loans journey and similar products hosted on STP platform for the regional markets. This position involves regular interaction with regional senior stakeholders from 5 market business lines and product teams and therefore requires strong influencing skills, managerial awareness, and technical credibility. In addition to this, the scale of the Accounts Value Stream Portfolio across 5 MENA markets requires someone with strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to empower and delegate tasks to more junior members of staff. The role currently involves managing 2 different POD’s (around 50 members from India team) and cross functional regional teams to run a product portfolio around 3m USD CTB budget.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for product management of key elements of regional Accounts STP platform as well as MENAT Market specific value stream capabilities spanning 5 markets to deliver distinctive value to all new and Existing customer accounts, using browser and mobile digital technical capabilities.
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting the function that has an overall, end to end responsibility for overseeing and providing leadership on all technical interdependencies as well as an understanding and appreciation of the business needs and ramifications of such products and systems.
  • Support regional systems which are live to customers and will be accountable for the Accounts journey service quality as a service owner.
  • Act as the regional Accounts and MENAT Market Specific VS product owner and subject matter expert, accountable for initiatives within the HSBC across 5 MENAT Markets for the delivery.
  • Representing MENA Accounts (all SVS’s) product ownership within the Global forum, providing content relevant to the MENA regional 5 markets for the delivery.
  • Own the STP platform and associated Lending product deliveries across 5 MENAT Markets within multi-disciplinary agile teams to deliver excellent new products and/or iterations to existing products to meet user needs.
  • Work in collaboration with the regional and Global Product Owners to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Manage development and elaboration of product roadmaps in support of the business appetite.
  • Oversee the Accounts and Lending product planning, yearly product roadmap development, feasibility assessments, and high-level design of business systems or subsystems, technology projects and functions from a technical perspective.
  • Collaborate with business, technical architecture and other stakeholders to identify product / customer requirements, assess impacts to other data and systems, consider available technologies, compare costs and benefits, and recommend solutions, collaborating closely with the engineering team in building out new features.
  • Understand global and regional business and IT strategies across 5 MENAT Markets and plans to ensure effective consulting is provided to businesses and customer groups.
  • Define and maintain effective engagement, communication and reporting structures and relationships for the region to ensure full transparency for IT planning and delivery.
  • Lead initiative across the Accounts Value Stream portfolio and ensure business priorities are delivered in a cost efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure that the onshore and offshore delivery units engage effectively.
  • Support the Regional WPB CIO and Regional head for Accounts VS.
  • Support all regulatory and discretionary initiatives across all STP Initiatives.
  • Facilitate adoption of cloud initiatives in the region across WPB tech and support Cloud adoption teams from a regional standpoint.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience & Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree is a must to obtain UAE work visa.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver IT strategy within the Accounts VS Portfolio.
    • Sound product owner/manager level experience of managing large and complex programmes (solid IT background and 10-15 years’ product management experience).
    • Knowledge of current web technologies, understanding the following terms and their context for development: XML, JSON, SQL, HTML, REST, SOAP, and HTTP.
    • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, strong understanding of modern API’s enablement, Restful services, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, building services, technical product development, and project management.
    • Ability to interact with and consult to the senior / executive business management.
    • Ability to deliver in a complex matrixed supply chain, multi-task and effectively manage risk.
    • Sound knowledge in multiple risk disciplines & regulatory requirements is a definite competitive advantage.
    • Knowledge of the MENA region, cultural differences, variety of Banking Markets.
    • Technical Product Management experience in Digital Covering Cloud Foundry (PCF), MuleSoft, Splunk, Service monitoring, and dynamic/technical platforms in line with group future state architecture.
    • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA), strong understanding of modern API’s enablement, Restful services, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, building services, technical product development, and project management.
    • Experience of managing 3rd party vendor agencies and consultancies.
    • Have experience working with Agile lifecycle, tracking and process management tools, e.g., JIRA.
    • Ability to work in an unstructured and changing environment, competent at managing an ever-changing backlog and are able to pivot on strategy and priorities when business needs arise.
    • Customer focused, results-based approach, able to deliver to deadlines.
    • Understanding of how the changing regulatory environment has impacts on the Digital product design process.
    • Excellent negotiation and diplomatic problem-solving skills to resolve issues across functional areas and between the organization and external parties.
    • Proven ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders, selectively communicating technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
