We are looking for a highly talented Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This role offers an opportunity for hands-on and team management experience while directly impacting our products. Responsibilities:
- Define the strategic direction of your team and contribute to the technical strategy for the entire Hungerstation consumer products.
- Guide and coach an exceptional team of engineers, mentoring them in both technical and non-technical aspects while leading them to build stable, scalable, and reliable features and services.
- Assist team members in shaping their individual careers, fostering a self-organized, agile, and autonomous team culture.
- Establish and grow effective engineering practices within the team (e.g., TDD, CI/CD, Agile Methodologies) to enhance engagement, speed of delivery, and quality of features and services.
- Collaborate with a product manager to lead projects your team owns, overseeing stakeholder management, creating roadmaps, alignment, and cost management.
- Actively participate in evolving the overall architecture, especially for the systems and products owned by your team.
- Scale organizational processes such as engineering hiring and onboarding.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- More than 8 years of overall experience, with no less than 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the B2C domain is a must.
- Work collaboratively with your team to identify necessary changes, creating and executing a vision to inspire and guide the transformation.
- Proven experience in coaching or mentoring teams, evolving team structures, and leveraging Agile methodologies, with a history of hiring top international talent.
- Strong understanding of product and business KPIs and the ability to translate them into goals using the OKR framework.
- Proficient in managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Familiarity with appropriate frameworks, practices, and approaches for solving complex technical and organizational problems.
- Significant experience in building complex, high-quality applications, along with strong knowledge of Domain Driven Design and microservice architecture.
- Expertise in selecting best practice Design Patterns and Design Principles for Software Architectures and Algorithms.
- Solid understanding of databases and their trade-offs, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL.
- Hands-on programming experience (using Golang, Java, RoR, Swift, or Kotlin) and expertise in designing and creating cloud-based, distributed, and scalable system architectures.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
