As a Managing Cybersecurity Consultant, you will serve as a vital advisor for clients, analyzing their business requirements to design and implement optimal security solutions. You will use your technical skills to balance enabling and securing the client's organization, leveraging cognitive solutions that are making IBM a leader in enterprise security.
Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Consultant to join our team. In this position, you will:
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability testing, and risk analyses for client systems.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and strategies tailored to client needs.
- Design and deploy robust security solutions, including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection systems, and more.
- Provide expert advice on security best practices and emerging threats to assist clients in mitigating risks.
- Collaborate with clients' IT teams to ensure seamless integration of security measures.
- Conduct security training and awareness programs for client staff.
- Stay abreast of the latest security trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of cyber threat intelligence with experience in threat and vulnerability modeling.
- Strong research skills focused on adversaries, threats, malware, and testing methodologies.
- Understanding of malware and patch advisory analysis and recommendations.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing methodologies.
- Experience in risk management and reporting (experience with SIEM is a plus).
- Ability to provide consultancy on risks and impacts associated with specific threat intelligence, including malware and vulnerabilities.
- Proficient in leading technical meetings with diverse teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- IT forensics investigations and/or incident response experience is a plus.
- Compliance, regulatory, and audit experience.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Over 6 years of Threat Intelligence experience (military or law enforcement background is a plus).
- Versatile in collaborating across multiple Security Operations Center functions, including Incident Response and Penetration Testing.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with a passion for the field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with customer service skills.
- Independent, self-starter who excels in teamwork.
- Good deductive reasoning and creative problem-solving skills.
- SANS certifications such as GCIH, GCTI are preferable.
