We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. In this full-time, on-site role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, developing and optimizing data models, and ensuring data integrity across multiple systems. You will work closely with various teams to deliver data solutions that drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Develop and maintain both relational and dimensional data models to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
- Build and manage data warehouse layers, ensuring compliance with data standards, governance, and management best practices.
- Implement and optimize data warehousing solutions, particularly in cloud environments such as Databricks and Snowflake.
- Write and maintain scripts in SQL, Python, and Scala for efficient data processing across various relational data systems.
- Work within Linux environments, managing terminal operations and workflows effectively.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and security of data across all data systems and platforms.
- Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, improve data reliability, and drive system scalability.
- Stay up to date with the latest data engineering technologies, tools, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional data models.
- Proficiency in terminal operations and Linux workflows.
- Solid SQL, Python scripting, and Scala scripting skills across a variety of relational data environments.
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies, especially cloud platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
- Familiarity with data warehouse layer construction, data standards, data management, and related practices.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts, insights, and findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or Hadoop.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps practices related to data engineering.
- Exposure to machine learning workflows and model deployment.
