Are you a Lead or Senior DevOps Engineer who is filled with opinions on how a platform should be built? Have you gotten to implement some of your ideas before but never really got to start from scratch and build the most beautiful, low-latency, high-scale, and efficient AWS infrastructure that you see in your dreams? Well, here is your chance. This company is creating a simplified checkout experience - receipts right to your phone. No bits of paper to lose, no needing to give a shop your email address so they can send you daily spam for the rest of your life. Just a receipt into your phone where you can find it forever.

What will you be doing?

• Using your intricate knowledge of AWS and all the tools and features available within to build out the core infrastructure of the platform
• Being curious and open to new ideas. This is an evolving platform and you’ll need to work with everyone else on the team to bring your ideas to the table but also take on everyone else’s ideas.
• Coaching and mentoring the engineering teams on DevOps best practices

The experience you bring is:

• Building infrastructure through automation within a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
• Serverless containerization with Fargate.
• Practical experience in cloud software engineering and best practices with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with event-driven architecture at scale.
• Experience using a variety of databases including DynamoDB and Aurora (Postgres).
• A pragmatic passion for automation through continuous innovation and improvement.

The stack:

• Cloud-based, AWS-hosted, and Infrastructure as Code at our core.
• We also support native mobile SDKs to make it easier for our partners to integrate.
• We lean on AWS serverless technologies such as API Gateway, ALBs, Lambda, Kinesis, SNS, and SQS.
• Our backend services are primarily TypeScript and NodeJS containers running in Fargate and EKS.
• We think native for our mobile SDKs with Swift (IOS) and Kotlin (Android).
• We store data in DynamoDB, AWS Aurora (Postgres), and S3.
• We value customer data and keep security front of mind and at our core.
