About the Job
We are looking for a professional with solid experience as a Cloud Solution Architect, able to understand the customer issues in their journey to Cloud. Knowledge and background in Cloud Architecture (IaaS & PaaS) would be our target. The ideal candidate must have a strong Cloud IaaS/PaaS oriented mindset and also a broad understanding of on-prem solutions (e.g., hardware platforms, Hyperconverged Systems, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Engage with strategic customers and build leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations to design and implement solutions.
- Work directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures, and translate business needs into solutions.
- Implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting.
- Display product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, conferences, and events.
- Support customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training.
- Create and distribute technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations).
- Serve as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success.
- Identify gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer-driven features.
- Provide direction and mentoring to others as a leading contributor.
- Maintain expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Wide background including architecture, implementation, and delivery of large-scale hardware and software systems in real-world situations.
- Strong understanding and practical experience in planning and delivering cloud migration projects from traditional on-premise deployment models.
- Detailed knowledge of architectural approaches including consolidation, cloud computing, virtualization, disaster recovery, information management, big data, Java applications, Oracle and non-Oracle applications.
- Knowledge of wide-area and datacenter networking design, protocols, and implementation.
- Familiarity with the full Oracle stack, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Gen2.
- Knowledge of cloud competitors including AWS, GCP, and/or Azure and their hybrid cloud offerings (e.g., Anthos, Outpost, Azure Stack).
- Cloud Architecture Development/Cloud certification (Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including needs analysis, positioning, business justification, and closing techniques.
- Significant C-level presentation expertise.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree highly desirable.
- Ability to travel as needed.
