About the Job
We are looking for a professional with solid experience as a Cloud Solution Architect, able to understand the customer issues in their journey to Cloud. A strong candidate will possess knowledge and background in Cloud Architecture (IaaS & PaaS), with a strong Cloud IaaS/PaaS oriented mindset and a broad understanding of on-prem solutions (e.g., HW platforms, Hyperconverged Systems, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with strategic customers and build leadership relationships to design and implement solutions.
- Gather requirements from customers, develop architectures, and translate business needs into solutions.
- Implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting.
- Support customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services, including resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training.
- Create and distribute technical assets such as white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations.
- Serve as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success.
- Identify gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer-driven features.
- Mentor and provide direction to others while maintaining expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
- A wide background in architecture, implementation, and delivery of large-scale hardware and software systems in real-world situations.
- Strong understanding and practical experience in planning and delivering cloud migration projects from traditional on-premise deployment models.
- Detailed knowledge of architectural approaches, including consolidation, cloud computing, virtualization, disaster recovery, information management, big data, and Java applications.
- Knowledge of wide-area and data center networking design, protocols, and implementation.
- Familiarity with the IT market and trends, including the full Oracle stack and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Gen2.
- Knowledge of cloud competitors including AWS, GCP, and/or Azure and their hybrid cloud offerings.
- Cloud Architecture Development/Cloud certification (Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including needs analysis, positioning, business justification, and closing techniques.
- Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication, with significant C-level presentation expertise.
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent is required; an advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel as needed.
