Position

The physical security operations team serves as the primary interface with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met through high-quality, industry-standard programs and services. Oracle is seeking a senior security professional to lead and develop teams, products, and services within the Global Physical Security (GPS) operations line of business. Responsibilities include expertise in data center operational security, guard force management, crisis management programs, risk assessments, incident response, and investigations.

The qualified candidate will report directly to the Director of Global Data Center Security Operations in the USA. This newly created position targets the Middle East and Southern Africa regions, necessitating periodic regional and global travel, and functions as an individual contributor overseeing contracted security staff across the portfolio.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide regional operational direction and oversight to ensure successful implementation of GPS strategic initiatives.
  • Manage security guard forces at internal and external data center locations.
  • Collaborate with Oracle Lines of Business and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with physical security auditing requirements including SSAE 18, ISO, and PCI.
  • Lead incident response and crisis management efforts.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, offering quality advice to Oracle employees on physical security aspects relevant to data center operations.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, training, and retention of high-caliber security guard staff with third-party providers.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies for best practices in physical security.
  • Prepare and manage the regional data center security operations program budget.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the GPS Director of Global Data Center Security Operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of industrial security experience, with at least 7 years in senior management roles, preferably in physical security/data center environments.
  • Strong understanding of legislation and compliance requirements for physical security operations, especially in data centers.
  • Experience in crisis management related to corporate-level physical security.
  • Knowledge of security technology resources, including access control and CCTV systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and effective communication skills, written and verbal, at all organizational levels.
  • Must demonstrate customer service aptitude and be a team player with global exposure to diverse cultures.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficient communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Education:

  • A BS/BA degree is desirable but not mandatory; industry certifications are preferred but not required.
