Principal Technical Architect - Apps & Data

As the Principal Technical Architect (Big Data) at Presight, you will be a strategic technical leader responsible for designing, validating, and implementing robust and scalable architectures for our data analytics and AI solutions. This role involves close collaboration with product, engineering, and sales teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions. Presight is a leading big data analytics company based in Abu Dhabi and supported by G42, specializing in combining big data, analytics, and AI expertise across all sectors to generate positive business and societal impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and enforce data architecture and standards to ensure quality, scalability, performance, and data integrity.
• Perform technical assessments to determine hardware requirements and sizing for big data workloads.
• Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, and storage pipelines utilizing modern big data technologies.
• Mentor and provide technical oversight to data engineering teams.
• Collaborate with development teams as a subject matter expert to enhance data management and processing components.
• Comply with organizational policies related to quality health, safety, environment, and risk management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in data-intensive projects as a Big Data Engineer/Architect.
• Strong expertise in big data modeling, architecture best practices, and scalable data pipeline design.
• Proficiency in modern big data methodologies and technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Trino) and SQL.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in software development and familiarity with the product development lifecycle.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
• Experience with big data technologies and customer-facing technical roles.
